Why do you like mpreg?

I was thinking about this yesterday, when I was drawing another Draco mpreg picture. I was thinking about it because I think it's a strange thing to like - and yet I can't help it. I just love writing, drawing and reading about these strange pregnancies that aren't possible for real (yet...). It's a kink of mine, I suppose.

I was thinking about quitting doing it, thinking about forcing myself to neither read nor write mpreg fics anymore. It quickly turned out that I couldn't stop. For me, it's a sort of relaxation, such an easy thing to do. I have several mpregs that I haven't posted and some of them won't be posted because they're pretty much crap - they were just written because I didn't have anything to do.

So why do I like it? I have to say, I don't like it in all the fandoms I read. I read a lot of fandoms (though I only write in a few), from HP to Pirates of the Caribbean to the Matrix to Sailor Moon to Buffy - but there are only a few of these fandoms where I like the idea of mpreg. In Buffy and Sailor Moon, for example, my preferred reading couples are het and as such, mpreg isn't really necessary. 'cause the thing I really like is pregnancy and babies - and a girl do that without magic (all to easily for some... *eyeroll*). In HP and PotC on the other hand, my favorite couples are slash - HP/DM, HP/SS, Jack/Will - and for *those* couples to have babies, they need mpreg (or adoption, but that's not nearly as much fun - it lacks the morning sickness ;)).

Conclusion? I like pregnancy and babies and if my fave couple is male, then mpreg is the answer to that liking. It's a kink I have and I'm not stopping any time soon - after all, there seems to be people out there who likes it just as much as I do.
