A few days ago, there was a thingy going 'round on LJ, about posting the text in question if you had people you'd met online who'd made your life better. I didn't post it, though it is definitely the case, because it was already everywhere ^^

However, I must say: sometimes the internet makes me very happy.

Or, more to the point, the people on the internet make me happy. Like for example two days ago, when I posted my little feeling-gray entry, and I just got such lovely support from you guys.

Today I started going through my inbox, deleting old emails. I started out with a little over 800 of them, now down to 500 (takes a while to go through). A lot of the emails are work, of course, but a great deal of them are reviews of my fanfics and other exchanges with people I've only met online. And reading through the reveiws and other emails makes me very happy.

Some of the absolutely lovely words I've gotten about my stories (no spoilers for any of my stories):

Cut because it's mostly just squeeage over my writing, which is happy for me but probably not that fun for everyone else... )

My Harry Potter story "The Depths of Winter" is still the story with the most reviews - currently at 2189 reviews on ff.net - plus all the reviews of the translations (the French translation has 801 reviews, for example 0_0) and some 1500 on FictionAlley... And, as I just discovered, I've passed the 1000-revies line for "Time out of Place" as well. It says something about the size of the fandom *g*

I think the reviews that I'm always the happiest with are not the ones that are just plain "Oooh, this is so good!" (although those are, of course, very nice), but the ones that either say that my story has opened their eyes to slash, or just to a new fandom. If a person who hasn't seen the show/read the book/whatever reads my story, then that's just... so cool. And if they get more tolerant towards slash and homosexuality in general, that's even more awesome. I've received reviews saying I've turned people into Harry/Draco shippers, or Gibbs/DiNozzo shippers. So cool!

All in all, I just want to say: Thank you to everyone on my f-list, everyone who's ever commented on my stories, all the people I've been emailing with, creating the NCIS Awards with, discussing shows with, helping me with my thesis, betaing my stories... My life really is all the better because you're all in it ♥
